Background

Newlife has had a successful 20+ year relationship with an international toy retailer, supplying a range of services, including Daily cleaning, Window cleaning, Graffiti removal, Floor maintenance, Pavoir cleaning, Gum removal and Fly-tipping clearances including sharps and condoms to a major part of their UK estate.

The Challenge

As with many retail organisations, a downturn in trade during the recession was anticipated and all suppliers were requested to devise proposals that would reduce costs while not compromising their customer driven need for a clean, well-presented environment, especially the sales floor. This meant a reduction of 20 - 25% of ‘cleaning hours’ in some stores.

The Solution

Newlife rose to the challenge by investing in new, faster operating Ultra High Speed floor maintenance equipment which had the added benefit of being safe enough to use when the stores were open to the public, retraining our operatives and working to an amended specification that concentrates on the sales floor and ‘public’ areas. With the co-operation of the client’s staff, who clear floor areas ready for cleaning, the new regime has so far achieved then surpassed the required result.
