Contractor: Balfour Beatty - Contract: City of Sunderland Aquatic Centre

With a 120 week build programme, this contract involved the construction of a £20 Million swimming facility offering the North East its first Olympic sized pool. The centre was purpose built as a training camp for the 2012 Olympics.

Consisting of over 5,100 cubic metres of concrete, timber beams and 225,483 specialist tiles, the structure now stands proud along side the Stadium of Light.The flagship pool is the largest the North of England and will provide much needed facilities for the whole region and will improve the regions economic outlook.

Newlife Cleaning Systems are very proud to say that we have supported our client throughout this contract. We arrived on site week 84 of the programme and commenced with the builders clean.Specialist access equipment was hired in due to the nature and specification of the tilled floor areas. Hi Spec Scrubber Dryers were also bought in specifically for this contract to offer the technical solution required to provide the required finish to all the different floor areas.
